The Earthqualizer Foundation is deeply committed to supporting the vital role of nickel in the transition to clean, responsible, and sustainable energy. In line with this commitment, Earthqualizer hosted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled “Building Responsible Mining Initiatives in North Maluku Province” on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Muara Hotel in Ternate City, North Maluku.
This event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including government representatives, academics, researchers, and environmental and conservation experts, to engage in productive discussions aimed at advancing responsible mining practices.
During the FGD, Earthqualizer facilitated comprehensive dialogues with local government officials on the implementation of responsible mining practices. Key discussion points included the identification of strategic measures to mitigate the environmental and social impacts of mining, the development of compensation schemes, and the formulation of actionable recommendations to support the advancement of responsible mining initiatives.
The overarching goal of this FGD was to promote mining practices that prioritize environmental stewardship, improve community well-being, ensure the effectiveness of reclamation and post-mining activities, and lay the groundwork for constructive collaboration among various stakeholders in North Maluku. Through these discussions, Earthqualizer aims to contribute to a sustainable future, where the benefits of mining are balanced with the imperative to protect natural resources and uplift local communities.
By facilitating this dialogue, Earthqualizer remains dedicated to driving positive change, fostering responsible mining practices, and ensuring that economic growth goes hand in hand with environmental and social responsibility.
