Yayasan Ekualiser Bumi Untuk Semua - Earthqualizer Foundation (EQ) developed its Annual Partnership program, marking a significant milestone in efforts to transform landscape sustainability, recovery, and palm oil production systems. Created in collaboration with EQ partners, the program leverages the Global Partnership for Recovery (GPR) model to mobilize and align resources in support of Indonesia's priority landscapes.
Earthqualizer Partnership Program is a holistic initiative addressing Indonesia’s palm oil challenges—conservation encroachment, social conflicts, and regulatory compliance—by integrating critical focus areas from environmental protection and community empowerment to compliance with Indonesia’s regulatory standards and global benchmarks like NDPE, RSPO, and the EU Green Deal. Using the Global Partnership for Recovery (GPR) model, the program unites resources to drive scalable, impactful change across the supply chain, enhancing environmental stewardship and sustainable livelihoods.
With advanced data analytics for Supplier Group Monitoring and Traceability, Earthqualizer equips partners with precise insights and compliance tools. Our governance model safeguards stakeholder interests, emphasizing both local impact and global standards. Covering over 30 million hectares and impacting 15 million lives, this program is one of the palm oil sector’s largest recovery initiatives, setting a transformative standard for enduring change.
Conservation Encroachment: 286,000 hectares oil palm plantations in conservation areas and protected forests (Kalimantan and Sumatra).
Social Conflicts: Approximately 1,500 cases of social conflict have been identified, with 2,300 hectares of plasma and 89,000 hectares of independent smallholder land within forest zones.
Non-Compliance: From 2016 to 2023, NDPE non-compliance impacted 549,491 hectares, with an additional 18,667 hectares affected in 2024.
Increasing Requirements: NDPE, RSPO, and EU regulations (EUDR, EUCSRD, EUCSDD)
Mitigating Risks: Robust monitoring, due diligence, and reporting practices to align with evolving standards.
Building Resilience across supply chain: Strengthening smallholder capacity ensures compliance and improves livelihoods, supporting a resilient, inclusive supply chain.
NDPE Compliance and Monitoring: Strengthen compliance with No Deforestation, No Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE) policies through advanced monitoring tools.
Direct Engagement and Consultancy: Offer direct support and strategic guidance for companies and smallholders to meet regulatory and voluntary standards.
Recovery and Restoration: Prioritize land restoration and rehabilitation to promote ecological balance in conservation areas.
Smallholder Development: Provide resources and training to empower smallholders with sustainable practices, improving their resilience and livelihood.
