We from Earthqualizer Foundation & Inovasi Digital would like to express our sincere gratitude to the participants and people who have supported our first face-to-face event since the start of the pandemic. The event, which was held in Jakarta on 9 February 2023, managed to gather leading oil palm growers and industry players to discuss issues related to the NDPE recovery, RSPO Remediation and Compensation Program (RaCP) and European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD). 

After attending the event, we believe that participants have obtained additional knowledge on the best practices of NDPE recovery and social forestry and understood the importance of supporting the development of local communities. We also note the warm reception to the success stories and achievements shared by our key partners, namely Unilever, Bumitama, KPN Plantation and Anglo Eastern Plantation. Last but not least, we acknowledge that social forestry and agroforestry (as detailed in the Indonesian Presidential Regulation No. 9 Year 2021) can be synergized with the RSPO RaCP. This is especially relevant as industry players grapple with the implications of the upcoming EU CSDD which will impose additional requirements on indigenous land rights, welfare of smallholders and deforestation-free supply chains.
