On October 17, 2024, the Department of Environment and Forestry of the West Kalimantan Provincial Government convened a forum to discuss the Reconciliation of Social Forestry Assistance Activities, organized by the Social Forestry Acceleration Working Group.
This forum gathered government officials and representatives from organizations involved in social forestry village support to assess and discuss the progress of social forestry initiatives within the province’s supported villages. Among the participating organizations, Earthqualizer Foundation joined to share insights on activities and accomplishments related to the advancement of social forestry within the communities under its guidance.
To date, Earthqualizer Foundation, alongside its implementation partners, has extended support to 19 villages across three districts in West Kalimantan, encompassing 68,000 hectares under the village forest scheme. Looking ahead, Earthqualizer plans to expand this coverage by an additional 50,000 hectares. The foundation has also successfully restored over 100 hectares of degraded land and developed ecotourism, agroforestry, and community-based fisheries, all aimed at bolstering local livelihoods.
Earthqualizer Foundation leads this initiative with the vision of improving community welfare through sustainable and responsible forest management practices that honor the ecological integrity of forest landscapes. Committed to fostering sustainable practices within the agricultural and forestry sectors, Earthqualizer seeks to create lasting benefits for both people and nature.
